Women's House of Maré
Inaugurated in October 2016, the Women's House of Maré is a space designed by Redes to foster the role of women in the region.
Black House of Maré
Black House of Maré objective is to create a space of theoretical-methodological and political formation to deal with racial ethnic issues in the 16 favelas of Maré. In this way, we want to confront the structural racism that characterizes Brazilian society.
Normal Space
Result of three years of research and intervention, Redes da Maré inaugurated, in May 2018, the first reference space about drugs in a favela, called Normal Space.
Maré Arts Center
Created in partnership with the choreographer Lia Rodrigues, the Maré Arts Center was inaugurated in 2009. With 1,200 square meters at Nova Holanda, it’s a reference space of art and culture for residents of the region and surrounding neighborhoods.
Lima Barreto Popular Library
In 2005, the Lima Barreto Popular Library was created to meet the demand of youth and adults of Maré for a place where they could read and study.
Herbert Vianna Cultural Arena
Located at Nova Maré, one of the poorest communities of Rio, the Herbert Vianna Cultural Arena is municipal facility inaugurated in 2005. We assumed its co-management with the intention of developing continuous cultural intervention in a territory.
Galpão Direito à Saúde
O Galpão Direito à Saúde foi criado a partir da consolidação do trabalho da Redes da Maré na luta pelos direitos dos moradores à saúde pública e a viver em um território saudável e sustentável.
