PROJECT

The project is a partnership between the NGO Español para Tod@s and Redes da Maré, and its purpose is to contribute to improving the quality of life and socio-educational and work opportunities for the residents of Maré, through the teaching of the Spanish language and culture. There are already approximately 250 students graduated since 2014.

The partner NGO is formed by a multidisciplinary group of volunteers, whose main objective is to fight poverty in its different dimensions through social transformation in the field of integral education with social and cultural content.

The project offers quality foreign language education, with native teachers, in a way that is a differential and an opportunity for all residents of the territory, as well as an ability to improve the professional profile of the adult population.

All Spanish language courses follow the division of levels (A1 and A2 - Initial; B1 - Intermediate 1; B2 - Intermediate 2; and C1 - Advanced) and contents proposed by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (MCER). Classes, materials and dynamics are prepared by the Institute of Spanish Culture and Language (ICLE) and the project's educators.

Start of remote classes in the second half of 2021.

HOW DOES IT WORKS?

As a result of the partnership between Redes da Maré and Fundación Imaginario Social (now Espanhol para Tod@as) signed in 2015, the project Spanish for All in Maré offers regular language classes for residents of the region. As of 2016, the project gained a partner, the Instituto de Cultura e Língua Española (ICLE) of Rio de Janeiro, whose teaching method was adopted in classes.

The course is divided into four four-month modules and, currently, there are classes at three levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.
