PROJECT

Maré Music Show is a project that aims to create powerful musical connections and offer them to the public, with unquestionable quality, guaranteed by a competent team, attentive and passionate about art. The connection takes place through shows that always unite an independent artist and an already established artist. Among the objectives of the exhibition, we can highlight:

  • Reveal new sounds
  • Conduct unprecedented musical meetings
  • Connecting artists and audiences from different parts of Rio de Janeiro
  • Revealing the potential and valuing Maré and peripheral artists
  • Establishing Maré as an alternative stage in the Rio music scene.

Each show has at least two attractions, an artist from popular territory and another already established. In all, there are 8 concerts, which in addition to boosting the Rio music scene, bring out the musical richness of the city's largest group of favelas – Maré. Founded by immigrants from the Northeast, Maré brings in its DNA rhythms such as xote, xaxado and frevo, which merged with popular music from Rio de Janeiro, resulting in new and unusual musical transformations.

In addition to leisure and culture, the Maré Music Show is an excellent opportunity for cariocas (and other music lovers) to discover the powerful cultural diversity of Maré – where African drums, metal, classical music, funk and forró can be heard (and danced) in its streets and alleys, which constitute a gigantic and democratic musical Babel.
